Reviewed: FUNC KB-460 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard & MS-3 Mouse

Pricing

The street price of the KB-460 was listed as low as $127 online.  If you can grab one for ~$130 mark we think it’s a good purchase. (check www.staticice.com.au for stores that stock it). We only saw the KB-460 with Red Cherry MX switches listed online in Australia for sale.

The MS-32 is available online for as low as $68. We consider this to be well priced and competitive.

Conclusion

We enjoyed road testing the Func gaming peripherals and found the keyboard footprint, ergonomics and functionality to be spot on for our gaming needs. The ergonomics of the MS-32 mouse were at an even better level and the onboard profiles proved useful when moving the mouse from our dedicated test bench to other rigs. The matte rubberised finish and cable braiding orange/black pattern is the same as the FUNC KB-460 mechanical keyboard which also shares the same low visibility branding. It’s worth noting if you have OCD or just like peripherals to match.

Whilst there is room for improvement in the software with regard to game detection, the MS-32 really is a great gaming mouse to use. I found it comfortable to use for FPS, RTS and arcade style games like War Thunder. Long periods of gaming didn’t pose a problem either and in the time we’ve had with it, it certainly felt ergonomic/comfortable.

The KB-460 is competing against other mechanical keyboards with dedicated macro and media keys and WASD backlighting. For many gamers, this isn’t going to be a deal breaker and the price is very reasonable. The keyboard itself has a well-spaced layout, nice sharp red LED backlight and Red Cherry MX switches to keep gamers satisfied. The keyboard also stores 5 profiles of mapped keys in the onboard memory so you don’t need to run the software to use the macros on shared PCs.

Both the KB-460 and MS-32 are solid, competitively priced gaming peripherals and we can recommend them without any hesitation. Either product would be a good purchase but together they are a great match and worth the $200 spend for the pair.
