As usual, Fractal Design has a long list of features which are practical and more than marketing propaganda. In the testing, I found most of these features to be either time savers or really handy in terms of keeping things neat.
The official specifications of the Define R5 are listed below including the extensive cooling options.
The immediate design inclusions that caught our attention were:
- Compact design with space saving layout for hard drives, SSDs and a full sized graphics card
- Support for tall CPU coolers up to 170mm tall
- Large magnetic dust filters on the top and side – surprising for the price point.

Well done on a deservedly good review of this excellent itx case. Even today I think it represents great value and is still one of the very few sub 20 litre cases that can house ALL full sized ATX-designed power components including the very largest of CPU coolers (my build has the immense Noctua NH-D15S cooling a reasonably heavily overclocked i7-8700K).
