Reviewed: Noctua Redux

Pricing

This is arguably the best part about the Redux series – they are much more affordable than previously. The current street prices are below.

  • NF-R8 Redux $19
  • NF-B9 Redux $19
  • NF-P14r Redux $26
  • NF-S12B Redux $22

The fans in the Redux range are $8 – $14 cheaper than the new Premium range of alternatives depending on the size you are after. This price difference soon adds up if you need a few of them for your build so if funds are tight it’s worth considering.

Conclusion

Massive kudos to Noctua here in scaling back on the packaging and accessories to deliver affordable high quality fans that still deliver a fantastic noise/performance ratio.

The colours will please many and the price is likely to please even more system builders with the masses now able to more easily afford top end fans in their rigs. Personally, I’d be grabbing the PWM version of the Redux range in the size I needed and running them in a standard profile off the motherboard – everything you need is in the box for quiet running.

For those that want to replace older fans like the P-14 on their coolers with a ‘like for like’, it’s great to see the previous range still in production and not discontinued prematurely.
